Restricting where an employee can punch via the mobile app is a multi-step process. Please follow the instructions below.
Establish Allowed Contact Info Locations
The Contact Info page can be located on the navigation menu under Employee Maintenance >> Employee Information >> Contact Info.
The Contact Info page contains address types defined by your organization for employees. It often contains a field called Home, but could contain more, such as Home 2 or Home Office. These address fields may be populated manually or may be imported from a file or HR system. There will be a latitude and longitude coordinate associated with each address listed.
For specific instructions on manually setting or updating an employee’s Contact Info, please visit the Contact Info page.
For assistance with possibly importing this data to your Time & Attendance system, please reach out to our Technical Support team.
Establish Allowed Geofencing Locations
Geofencing Locations are locations you wish to allow employees to clock from. These are typically associated with a group of employees, as opposed to a home address. Examples of Geofencing Locations might be job sites, retail locations, or warehouses. This allows you to have an employee, or group of employees, to punch from one location, but not another.
Geofencing Locations can be temporary, like a construction job site, or permanent, like a shipping or manufacturing warehouse.
For steps on how to set up Geofencing Locations, please see our Geofencing Locations support page.
Add Allowed Address Types To Mobile Profile
The Address Types that may be added are established by your organization, and the physical addresses are added via the Contact Info page for employees or the company.
After adding the Address Type, you can establish a radius in which punching will be allowed.
For full details on adding Address Types to a Mobile Profile, please reference our Mobile Profile support page.
Add Allowed Locations To Mobile Profile
The Locations that may be added are established by the locations added on the Geofencing Locations page.
After adding the Geofenced Location, you can establish a radius in which punching will be allowed.
For instructions on adding Geofencing Locations to a Mobile Profile, please reference our Mobile Profile support page.
Assign A Mobile Profile To A Security Group
Assigning a Mobile Profile to a Security Group will determine the features that group of employees will be allowed to access on the Mobile App, as well as establishing the allowed locations the employees will be allowed to clock from. If needing to set a profile for an individual employee and not a group of employees, please see the section below on Assigning A Mobile Profile To A User’s Security page.
For more information on assigning the profile to Security Group, please see our Group Security support page.
Assign A Mobile Profile To A User’s Security
Assigning a Mobile Profile to a User Security page will determine the features that employee will be allowed to access on the Mobile App, as well as establishing the allowed locations the employee will be allowed to clock from. If needing to set a profile for a group of employee and not an individual employee, please see the section above on Assigning A Mobile Profile To A Security Group page.
User Security Mobile Profile assignments will take precedence over any Security Group settings. If set to (none), the system will respect any Mobile Profile assigned to the employees Group Security.
For more information on assigning a profile to User Security, please see our User Security support page.
