New Feature
Mobile Geofencing in TimeStar
TimeStar now includes powerful geofencing controls that let you manage where employees can punch in and out from the mobile app. This helps improve time-tracking accuracy by ensuring punches are submitted from approved locations—without adding complexity for employees.
Administrators can define approved locations and rules that the TimeStar mobile app checks before allowing a punch. If an employee is within an approved area, the punch works as usual. If not, the punch is blocked and the employee is clearly informed why.
Geofencing requires the latest version of the TimeStar mobile app (iOS and Android) and that your system is hosted by Delphia.

Key Enhancements
Define Approved Work Locations
You can now create and manage Geofencing Locations in TimeStar, such as offices, job sites, or client locations.
• Add locations using full street addresses
• Locations are automatically converted into GPS coordinates
• Reuse locations across multiple mobile profiles
• Retire locations when they’re no longer needed
This makes it easy to manage both permanent and temporary work sites.

Flexible Rules by Mobile Profile
Geofencing is configured through Mobile Profiles, giving you flexibility for different roles and work scenarios.
You can allow punches based on:
• Address Types (for example: Home, Work, or Client Site)
• Specific Locations (offices, job sites, project locations)
For each address or location, you can define:
• Allowed Radius – the distance from the location where punches are permitted
Multiple address types and locations can be combined in the same profile.

Accurate Location Data—Automatically
TimeStar automatically converts addresses into GPS coordinates using a built-in geocoding service.
• No manual coordinate entry required
• Ensures accurate location verification
• Prevents saving locations with unreliable address data
You can also control how strict TimeStar should be when validating address accuracy.

Seamless Experience for Employees
On the mobile app (iOS and Android), location checks happen automatically:
• Employees don’t need to take extra steps when punching from approved locations
• Clear messages explain why a punch can’t be submitted if they’re outside an allowed area
• Works with existing offline punch capabilities when connectivity is limited
Employees simply punch as usual—TimeStar handles the rest.

Backward-Compatible by Design
If no geofencing rules are configured for a mobile profile:
• Location checks are skipped automatically
• Existing workflows continue to work without interruption
You stay in full control of when and where geofencing is enforced.
Enhancements & Improvements
PHP Version: TimeStar is now compatible with PHP v8.1.33
More accurate accrual balances on the Dashboard
Accrual Balance widgets in My Requests now reflect an employee’s active accrual period based on plan setup, rather than only the current period. Balances include pending future hours within that period, and multiple plans with the same accrual code are automatically combined.
Timesheet toolbar stays visible while scrolling
The toolbar at the top of Data Entry > Timesheet now remains fixed as you scroll through the week, keeping key actions always accessible.
Control over the Out for Lunch punch option
For organizations using Web Clock Restrictions, administrators can now enable or disable the Out for Lunch punch type to better align with punch policies.
Clearer display of Beginning Balance records
Beginning Balance records now always appear first in accrual history tables, even when multiple records share the same effective date.
